Koshy Malayil, M.Sc., Ph.D., P.Chem.
Analytical Divisions Manager

Dr. Malayil has a Doctorate degree in Chemistry from the University of Calicut (1989) and a Masters degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Kerala (1981) in India.

Dr. Malayil has published numerous papers in international journals on the effects of gamma radiation, and has lectured extensively to graduate chemistry students in analytical chemistry. He is a member of the Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta.

Dr. Malayil manages KaizenLAB in Calgary and is actively involved in business development. He is also responsible for the development of new analytical procedures and documenting methodology at both the field and bench level. Dr. Malayil provides technical support to the clients, especially with regard to the interpretation of analytical data.

Dr. Malayil is also the Quality Assurance Officer of KaizenLAB which is accredited by Canadian Association for Environmental Analytical Laboratories (CAEAL). He has been involved in preparing the Lab for accreditation based on ISO 17025 guidelines, preparation of manuals, conducting internal audits etc. He has served as one of the Directors of Association of Chemical Profession of Alberta.

Armando Salcedo B.Sc (Hons.), M.B.A.
Lab Manager

Mr. Armando has more than 16 years of experience in environmental testing in Laboratories in Canada, US and Mexico. He has a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Universidad La Salle and an M.BA. from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico in Mexico City.

He worked as a Chemist in EA Laboratories (Baltimore USA) and as Manager in Microanalysis Lab (Mexico City), Intertek Testing Services (Mexico City) and LEISA/Laboratorios (Mexico City). He was the Organics Manager of ETL/ALS Laboratory (Waterloo Ontario) for three years and worked at AGAT Laboratories (Calgary) before joining KaizenLAB.

 At KaizenLAB Mr. Armando manages the routine operations of the laboratory.

Sneha Sheth B.Sc, Ch.T
Team Leader, Water Quality and Inorganic

Ms. Sneha Sheth has a B.Sc Degree in Microbiology from Sardar Patel University in India and a Chemical Technology Diploma from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Calgary.

 She started with KaizenLAB in 2002 as an Inorganic Analyst and promoted as a Team Leader in 2006. She manages the Water Quality and Inorganic Division of KaizenLAB. She has got extensive experience in inorganic analyses such as water potability, soil salinity and soil texture. She is also the Safety Coordinator of the Lab and a member of the Lab QA/QC committee.

Myralyn Padua Gabyan B.Sc.
Q.A. Officer

Ms. Myralyn Gabyan has a B.Sc. in Biology (major in microbiology) from University of Philippines. She has worked as a Lab Supervisor and Quality Assurance Officer at Texwipe Philippines before moving to Canada. She has extensive experience in environmental inorganic and microbiology analyses.

At KaizenLAB, Ms. Gabyan is responsible for waste water analytical parameters such as BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia, nutrients, heavy metals, coliforms, iron reducing bacteria, sulphate reducing bacteria, and heterotrophic plate count. She is the QA/QC Coordinator of the Laboratory.

Brenda Fowler
Administration and Customer Services

Ms. Brenda Fowler has more than five years of experience in Customer Services and Administration. She has worked at Kohl & Frisch Calgary before joining KaizenLAB where she was responsible for providing customer service to pharmaceutical customers.

Ms. Fowler looks after the customer services and administration of KaizenLAB. She makes sure that all customer calls are attended and replied in a promptly manner. She is also responsible for maintaining the KaizenLAB Analytical Data Management System (KLAMS), making sure that the data base is up-to-date and customers receive the sample receipt notification, reports and invoices on-line and through other media.

Jayce Nagie Ch.T
Technical Sales Representative

Mr. Jayce Nagie has a Diploma in Chemical Technology from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary.

Mr. Nagie has more than five years of experience in the Oil and Gas and Environmental Analytical Business in Alberta. He worked with the corrosion team at Champion Technologies in Calgary before moving to Kaizen. At Champion, he was involved in routine chemistry tests, method development, procurement and client services. At Maxxam Analytics in Calgary, he performed a wide variety of environmental analysis and gained a wealth of experience in Environmental Analytical Services.

Mr. Nagie joined KaizenLAB in 2006 as the Technical Sales Representative. He is actively involved in signing up new clients, maintaining the accounts of existing clients and exploring new business markets.

Jesse S.Bourque B.Sc.Biol.(Univ. of New Brunswick)
Customer Services Coordinator

Mr. Jesse has a B.Sc. in Biology from University of New Brunswick. He also worked as a Research Assistant at Comern in Fredericton, N.B where he was involved in an environment impact assessment of freshwater and marine biota from mercury.

Mr. Jesse has more than four years of experience in Client Services. Before joining Kaizen, he worked as as a Project Managing Client Service Representative at AGAT Labs in Calgary where he was involved in liaising with clients to consult and manage incoming samples, creating reports and sending to clients and coordinating with lab and other departments with respect to samples and their required analyses.

At KaizenLAB, Mr. Jesse is responsible Client Services. He also supervises the shipping and receiving staff and makes sure that all sampling supplies are sent to the clients in time. He also helps the customers in data interpretation and in selecting the right analytical parameters for projects.

Yili Bai M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry, Univ. of Regina)
Team Leader, Organics

Ms. Yili Bai has a Master of Science in Physical Organic Chemistry from University of Regina.

Ms. Yili has more than five years of experience in Organic Analysis. She worked with Maxxam Analytics in Calgary before moving to Kaizen. At Maxxam, she was involved in trace organics analysis including analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons in both soil and water. She also has experience in analyzing trace carboxylic acid in water by FTIR.

Ms. Yili joined in KaizenLAB in 2007 as an Analyst and has been promoted as the Team Leader of Organics in 2008. She is actively involved in the development of new methods such as analysis of Gas, Pesticides, PCBs, Chlorophenols and substituted Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons
